Selective Reading

So like I said on the about me page, I work at this chinese restaurant within a mall. I mostly cashier and make orders for customers. One thing I've noticed is people don't read or... not all the way. I don't know if it's the short attention span or that in our society we are constantly bum bared with advertisements, signs, and information we don't particularly care about to the point that I would like to believe maybe just maybe people have this "filter" that makes them automatically tune this stuff out. Whatever the case may be, I work four and a half hour shifts and the following happens way more than it should within that time span:

This probably wouldn't even urk me as much if they didn't look back at me like it's a completely valid and unanswered question.
